True healing begins when we feel safe, seen, and supported.
At The Nourished Mind, we believe every story matters—and every person deserves care that nurtures the whole self.
Our Philosophy
At The Nourished Mind Counseling, we believe healing isn’t linear.
It’s layered, sacred, and uniquely yours.
Our therapists don’t do cold clinical checklists. We offer real relationship, emotional depth, and soul-deep restoration.
Here, you’ll be seen. You’ll be heard. And you’ll be met with warmth, skill, and care.
Why We’re Here
Let’s be honest—life can feel like a lot.
Maybe you’re used to being the strong one. The high-functioning one. The one who’s always “fine.”
But lately, you’re exhausted from holding it all together.
You want to feel better, yes—but more than that, you want to feel free.
We’re here to walk beside you through the hard stuff. To help you challenge what no longer serves you, and build a life rooted in self-compassion, not perfectionism.
Our therapists are deeply trained, trauma-aware, and fully human. We’ll meet you with both warmth and skill—because we know healing takes both.
What makes us different
We’re holistic – Healing is more than talk. We weave in mind-body tools, somatic work, and nervous system support.
We’re compassionate but active – We hold space and help you grow.
We’re inclusive – Body inclusive, LGBTQIA+ affirming, anti-racist, and trauma-informed care is our standard—not a selling point.
We’re all about permission, not pressure – Therapy here is grounded, gentle, and client-centered.

If you are in any type of emotional distress, big or small, counseling is for you. Sometimes we need an outside perspective to help us sort through day to day stuff, and sometimes we are experiencing the symptoms of past wounds and life altering stressors that need specific treatment. Either way, counseling is a place for you to explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences in a safe place. If you have questions about whether therapy is the right place for you, please schedule a free consultation.

Maybe! A diagnosis is a means to an end. Some people will have a clear diagnosis, others will need further assessment, and some might not need one at all. If you have been diagnosed in the past, or are concerned about the diagnosing process, please let us know and we will be more than happy to give you the appropriate information. All diagnoses come from the DSM-V.

A counselor is licensed in their state, has a Masters Degree, and has completed both board exams and Internship hours to obtain their counseling license. A Licensed Professional Counselor has to keep up with continuing education, and follow their state board of ethics, including HIPAA Laws. A counseling relationship ensures confidentially, with a few exceptions that your counselor will go over in your first session. Counselors can also diagnose clients using the DSM-V and will use evidence based therapeutic techniques to help clients.
Life coaching is typically short term, does not including diagnosing, and focuses on one specific problem area. It does not require a license although there are coaching certifications available.

Therapy is a place of healing. It can also be uncomfortable at times because we are digging deeper into thoughts, feelings and experiences that might be difficult to process. Therapy will be a safe space where you can talk and process these emotions and experiences, while also evaluating how you are coping with things that are distressing to you.
Therapy might involve making changes to your thoughts, habits, or lifestyle. Together we will explore different skills to help you navigate those changes. Most people find that therapy is rewarding and worth the emotional risks. -
This depends on the primary concerns, severity of symptoms, and treatment goals. Your therapist will go over all of these things with you within the first two sessions. You and your therapist will make a treatment plan and from there you will have a general idea as to how long therapy can take. Sometimes it can take a few months, and other times it can take several years to overcome deeper rooted issues.
The most important thing is to not put a firm timeline on your healing. Everyone heals at a different pace and that's okay! -
